Kansas State football faces a critical Sunflower Showdown against Kansas, while BYU prepares for a massive matchup against Notre Dame that could reshape the Big 12's College Football Playoff outlook. On this edition of the Big 12 Squad, we examine the biggest storylines across the conference, including Kansas State's struggles under Collin Klein, Avery Johnson's inconsistent performances and the growing pressure surrounding the Wildcats. Can Kansas State turn things around against its biggest rival? The Wildcats are coming off a disappointing performance against Houston, raising questions about their offensive identity and defensive consistency. Meanwhile, Kansas quarterback Isaiah Marshall is showing flashes of impressive potential, making the Jayhawks a dangerous opponent. We discuss why Avery Johnson remains one of the Big 12's most fascinating quarterbacks and whether Collin Klein needs to utilize his mobility more effectively. Plus, BYU has an enormous opportunity to make a national statement against Notre Dame. Could a Cougars victory strengthen the Big 12's case for multiple College Football Playoff bids? With LJ Martin's availability a major storyline, BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier could be asked to carry an even larger offensive workload against one of the nation's toughest defenses. The Big 12 Squad also examines Texas Tech vs. Arizona State, Baylor vs. TCU, Utah vs. Colorado, Houston vs. Oklahoma State and Cincinnati vs. West Virginia. From the Sunflower Showdown to the national playoff picture, this weekend could have major consequences throughout the Big 12. Can Kansas State protect its rivalry winning streak, and will BYU deliver the signature victory the conference needs? #KansasStateFootball #Big12Football #BYUFootball Photo Credit: Evert Nelson IMAGN Go AD Free and More with the Everydayer's Club!
