Locked On Kansas State - Daily Podcast on Kansas State Wildcats Football & Basketball

Kansas State Has a HUGE Offensive Line Problem… Right?

Episode Summary

Kansas State has a major question to answer before this season gets much more difficult. Can this offensive line hold up? Jon Grove of GoPowercat joins Locked On Kansas State as we break down Collin Klein's first depth chart and everything we learned about the Wildcats offense heading into Week 1 against Nicholls. And it starts at left tackle. Ryan Howard is expected to get the first opportunity after injuries completely changed what Kansas State thought its offensive line would look like entering the season. The experience level is concerning. Howard enters with zero college snaps. Keaton Jones has eight. Dylan Villarouel has 43. Gus Hawkins has 126, while Charlie Adams is currently the most experienced member of that projected starting five. That's a LOT of development that needs to happen quickly. The good news? Nicholls gives Kansas State an opportunity to start finding answers before the competition gets considerably more difficult. We also break down the rest of K-State's first offensive depth chart. Joe Jackson, Jay Harris and Rodney Fields are all listed as options at running back. Garrett Oakley, Will Anciaux and Linkon Cure give Kansas State multiple possibilities at tight end. And the wide receiver rotation finally gives us a better idea of who Avery Johnson will be throwing to this season. But there's one question that matters more than everything else against Nicholls. Kansas State needs to leave Week 1 feeling considerably better about its offensive line. Because Washington State is coming next. And unlike last season, K-State can't afford to spend September figuring everything out. #KansasState #KState #KStateFootball #Big12 #CollegeFootball #AveryJohnson Photo Credit: Evert Nelson - IMAGN Go AD Free and More with the Everydayer's Club!
