Kansas State football enters its matchup against Houston with very little margin for error after the Cincinnati loss. This could become an early Big 12 Championship elimination game. Collin Klein's Wildcats had the bye week to respond, and players described the Cincinnati loss as lighting a fire under the team. Now they have to prove it. Avery Johnson says he's 100% and that his body feels as good as it has at this point in a season. He also spent part of the bye week working with Patrick Mahomes' trainer. But Houston presents a brutal test. The Cougars have one of the best rushing defenses in college football, allowing just 65.5 yards per game entering this matchup. That creates a major challenge for a Kansas State offense that cannot afford to become completely dependent on Johnson. The offensive line needs to protect him. The Wildcats need to establish something on the ground. And Johnson may need to use his legs to keep Houston from attacking him all afternoon.
